Traditional silk knotting is a staple of jewelry making for a reason. It’s an easy skill to master and a fairly quick project, but looks impressively intricate and time consuming. The art of putting knots in the correct place, whether that’s right up next to beads or with a solid two inches of space between each one, is a well loved and treasured tradition.
But everyone’s doing it and you’re bored of it, but you’ve got all this silk.
What are you to do?
Use all of it!
We have the solution to your knotting doldrums: use multiple strands in your project! You can vary how often you have both strands going through your stones, or wrapping around them, or how many you wrap around your beads. Our advanced silk knotting class will teach you how to achieve this intricate look. We’ll teach you how to make sure the silk you’ve chosen will fit through your chosen beads and how to tie multiple silk threads securely. You’ll walk away with a new confidence in your designs and a renewed interest in more advanced silk knotting designs.
This class is an hour and a half long, and costs $65.
Thurs., Sept. 21, 12 pm – 1:30 pm
